WHO WE ARE


CRAT Cameroon Centre for the Rehabilitation and Abolition of Trauma, Cameroon, is a legalized, independent, non-profit making Organization, working to provide treatment and rehabilitation services (counselling, psychosocial support and mental health care interventions) to people who have been traumatized as a result of war, torture and other forms of organized violence in Cameroon. CRAT equally works for the promotion and protection of the human rights of this group of persons.          

Created since 1999, CRAT has since then been able to reach out to more than six thousands survivors  of wars, torture and other forms of systematic violence through psychosocial, medical, psychiatric and economic reintegration.  CRAT’s clients  includes prisoners  and former prisoners, victims of internal wars and family violence around Bamenda, refugees and asylum seekers in Yaounde from neighbouring African countries (such as Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Togo).


CRAT’s work is carried out from two centres located in Yaounde and Bamenda.
